Paul Pogba arrived in Turin on Friday ahead of his return to Juventus, the Serie A team where he first made his reputation, as a free agent.
Early that evening, Juve posted a video of the 29-year-old leaving the plane that had carried him from Miami on social media with the words "Incoming."
On his own Instagram earlier on Friday, the 29-year-old had all but declared his comeback when he tweeted a video of himself saying "see you soon" in Italian while sporting clothing in Juventus's colors of black and white.
World Cup champion Pogba will go through medical testing on Saturday before signing a four-year contract worth reportedly eight million dollars.
After his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last month, ending a generally dismal six years in England, he will return to Juventus.
After nine seasons without a Premier League championship, dysfunctional United are further away from the top of English football than they were before he started.
At one of the largest clubs in the world, Pogba's 2017 Europa League and League Cup accomplishments are pitiful, especially considering that Jose Mourinho claimed he was depressed at the time they were won.
Paulo Dybala, who might sign with Juve's greatest rivals Inter Milan after the Argentina attacker was released by the Turin giants, is anticipated to pass the number 10 shirt to Pogba.
Before joining United in 2016 for a then-record fee of £89 million, Pogba had donned that jersey during his final campaign with Juventus. He joined a distinguished group of playmakers who had previously worn the jersey, including Roberto Baggio, Alessandro del Piero, Michele Platini, and Liam Brady.
He transferred from United to Juve four years prior while still a teenager, and he quickly established himself in a fluid midfield with players like Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal.
When Massimiliano Allegri took over as coach in 2014 to replace Antonio Conte, Pogba flourished. He led a talented squad to the Champions League final the following season, where they were defeated by Barcelona.
He spent four seasons at the Old Lady of Italian football, where he won the Serie A title each year. He never lost his love for Juve and was frequently mentioned as a potential returnee while playing for United.
After a difficult season that saw Juve finish fourth, around 16 points behind the leaders, Allegri will be hopeful that Pogba can help Juve regain their previous glory.
